  • AO Hall's highly successful second biennial dinner and Fraud conference, held in conjunction with the GTA University Centre, was a huge success with delegates being treated to an extremely high calibre of speakers from a variety of backgrounds. Attendees to the pre-conference dinner were also given an opportunity to listen to and subsequently question PR guru, Max Clifford.

  • AO HALL was proud to support Guernsey's young entrepreneurs and the BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS - Schroders' Young Entrepreneur Award. Competition finalists were provided with free intellectual property advice from Group Partner Tania Shires in the week prior to the competition final on 29 April 2008.
  • AO Hall Corporate Group Partner Sam Shires recently gave a comparative overview of “Directors’ Duties and Obligations under Guernsey Law and English Law” at an OPC conference on Directors’ Risks and Liabilities.  The conference was attended by over 50 delegates.  The subject is particularly pertinent with the upcoming introduction of Guernsey’s new Companies Law.  AO Hall have been actively involved in the drafting of the new Companies Law and the establishment of the Guernsey Registry through the Companies Registry Steering Group, and welcome enquiries from clients about the changes under the new Companies Law.  Please also refer to our latest AO Lawline E-brief entitled Companies Law 2008 – Time to Get Ready.

  • On 6 August 2007 Sam Shires, AO HALL’s group partner specialising in financial services and investment funds, presented a session on The Protection of Investors (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 1987 (as amended) for the Guernsey Training Agency.  The session, which included an introduction to the POI Law, a review of the proposed changes to the Law and a series of interactive case studies proved extremely popular, with 40 delegates attending.
