More About Elaine Gray
Elaine has extensive experience in dispute resolution, specialising in all aspects of employment and intellectual property matters. Prior to coming to Guernsey in 2006, she practised in Scotland with leading commercial firms before moving to the Cayman Islands to gain experience in multi-jurisdictional litigation, including high-profile disputes such as the Grupo Torras and Jahre insolvency and trust cases. On coming to Guernsey in 2006 she maintained her dispute resolution practice but focused increasingly on employment and intellectual property matters, where the majority of her practice now lies. Elaine worked closely with Guernsey's Intellectual Property Office in preparing proposals for the introduction of ground-breaking image rights legislation, including presentations to the Commerce and Employment Dept and to States' Deputies. She is a member of the IP Commercial Group and also sits on the sub-committee assisting in the drafting of the legislation.
She is a regular speaker at conferences in relation to her practice areas, presenting seminars for Offshore Professional Conferences, the GTA University Training Centre, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the Guernsey College of Further Education. She has published in a wide variety of publications, including the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, IP Frontline, Business Brief, Mondaq and the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Directors, a member of the Fraud Advisory Panel, the Guernsey International Lawyers Association and the Data Protection Forum.
