The GTA and AO Hall are delighted to advise that Alice Gould a visiting lecturer at Bournemouth University will run the IP training session.   Her experience includes advising on the gaining, keeping and transfer of rights and the prosecution and enforcement of the same.  She acts for a variety of clients from multinational companies to small and medium sized businesses as well as individuals.

AO Hall has won the accolade of ‘Best Intellectual Property Law Firm – Guernsey 2011' for the second year in a row. Intercontinental Finance Magazine has announced its 2011 end of year country winners and once again AO Hall has scooped the award for IP. The award follows other recognition for our IP team headed by Elaine Gray and comes at an exciting time as Guernsey is about to introduce ground-breaking legislation creating a system of registered image rights.

Guernsey: The Offshore Jurisdiction of Choice for Intellectual Property Rights

Elaine Gray has written an article for the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, focusing on Guernsey's new IP regime and noting Guernsey's status as the offshore jurisdiction of choice for IP rights.  The article discusses in detail the legislation passed by the States of Guernsey in January 2009 which allows re-registration in Guernsey of a wide range of patents from a significant number of jurisdictions.  Click here to read a copy of the article.

World IP Day Competition

AO Hall is delighted to be participating in and sponsoring the 'Guernsey's Got Genius' competition for Guernsey's schools, which was launched on 14 December 2009 and which will conclude on World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April 2010.  The competition was the brainchild of partner Elaine Gray and is designed to showcase the ingenuity and creativity of Guernsey's school children.  Further information on the competition can be found at the website of Guernsey's IP Office by clicking here.

GlobalScot 2009

Elaine Gray has been appointed as a GlobalScot, to act as an ambassador for Scottish businesses.  GlobalScot is an organisation set up by Scottish Enterprise.  The appointment recognises Elaine's entrepeneurial spirit, and offers her the chance to give help and support to Scottish businesses interested in establishing a Guernsey presence.  Elaine commented: 'this is a great honour and a wonderful opportunity to strengthen links between Guernsey and Scotland.'.  For more information on GlobalScot click here.
